Lemon Scented Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) is a tree in the Myrtaceae family, native to the semi-temperate rain forests of Eastern Australia. It owes its Latin name (Backhousia citriodora) to British botanist James Backhouse. It is called lemon scented because its ground leaves have a strong lemony scent. The oil extracted from it is used in cosmetics and in soaps, lotions and shampoos. The leaves are used to add a lemony flavour to pasta, fish, aromatic oil, herbal tea, or lemon tea. They can also be used in dairy beverages, ice cream, and sorbet. They have the same taste as lemon, but aren’t acidic.

Myrrh is the best you can use to brush your teeth and protect your gums. Will lift off yellow stains and kill harmful bacteria and balance the mouth. If you have gum disease or yellow teeth, Myrrh will kill the bad bacteria and literally whiten the teeth again! I am so happy to have my teeth looking good again!
