Hemp is undoubtedly one of the first plants to have been domesticated by humans in the Neolithic period. The Cannabis ( Cannabis L. ) is a  botanical genus of annual plants of the Cannabaceae family. These are all plants native to Central Asia or South Asia. The classification in this genus is still debated. According to the majority of authors it would contain a single species, cultivated hemp ( Cannabis sativa L.), sometimes subdivided into several subspecies 1 , generally sativa , indica and ruderalis (syn. Spontanea ), while others consider that this are simple varieties .

Plants rich in fiber and poor in Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) give "agricultural hemp" which grows in temperate zones, exploited for its by-products (fibers, seeds, etc.) for various industrial uses, while " Indian hemp " », Which grows in an equatorial climate, is on the contrary very rich in resin and exploited for its medical and psychotropic properties .

Over time and migrations, hemp has spread to all continents. In addition to its food use, its fibers were used to make clothes and paper. The first Bible printed by Gutenberg would have been on hemp paper. Used in the manufacture of military clothing during the two world wars, at the end of the Second World War , they were replaced by synthetic fibers, with a more regular weaving. Fibers were used for a long time to make banknotes before being replaced by nettle . They are also used for durable ropes and cables , and have been used for a long time for the sails of ships.

The reputation of Hemp is very often linked to its relaxing and even hallucinogenic powers. Other variations exist in the form of hybrids. But it is important to distinguish hemp grown for industrial use and recreational cannabis containing, in much greater quantity, cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Hemp vegetable oil is produced from one of the most nutritious seeds in the world, which contains protein, fiber, minerals and 21 amino acids known in addition to being rich in omega 3 and omega 6.
