Black Spruce (Picea mariana) is a spruce tree species in the pine family. A symbol of North America’s Boreal Forest, black spruce is common to Canada, the Northern U.S. and Alaska. In Canada, it is primarily used by the pulp and paper industry for its solid, straight and lightweight wood, long used as carpentry wood.
