HOLIDAY SCENT LIP BALMS

 Here is a gourmet recipe to slip into Christmas stockings as a gift!

With orange, mint or cinnamon, this lip balm is sure to remind you of the scent of flavored Christmas chocolates. 

 

Materials List


 

  • A 30ml Blue Glass Jar + White Lid 
  • A saucepan 
  • A teaspoon 
  • A bowl 

 

Ingredients


 

1st option : Peppermint inspired “After Eight” 

  • 3 tbsp of Shea Butter (45 g) melted in a water bath or microwave 
  • 2 lozenges (5 g) of Cocoa Butter
  • 5 drops of Yakima Japanese or Supreme Peppermint essential oil 

 

2nd option : Sweet Orange inspired “Terry's Chocolate Orange Ball”  

  • 3 tbsp of Shea Butter (45 g) melted in a water bath or microwave 
  • 2 lozenges (5 g) of Cocoa Butter
  • 15 drops of Sweet Orange essential oil 

 

3rd  option : Cinnamon “Smells and tastes like Christmas!”

  • 3 tbsp of Shea Butter (45 g) melted in a water bath or microwave 
  • 2 lozenges (5 g) of Cocoa Butter
  • 3 drops of Cassia Cinnamon essential oil 

 

 

Preparation


 

  • Measure the Shea butter and Cocoa butter and pour into a bowl.  
  • Melt in a water bath or microwaave. 
  • Mix well.  
  • Remove from heat and when butter has cooled, add the essential oils.  
  • Mix well.  
  • Pour into the jar.   
  • Refrigerate jar immediately so the balm solidifies (about 45 minutes). 
  • Remove from refrigerator and put the lid on.   

 

Makes 1 jar of 30ml.

For external use by adults only. See the precautions for use on the labels of the essential oils used.  
Store in a cool place, dark place away from light.
