The Right Floral Water For Your Skin

The Right Floral Water For Your Skin

With their fresh, delicate scent, floral waters make excellent skin toners. Mist them over your face and body to get the most out of their amazing benefits.

Divine Essence® floral waters are obtained during essential oil distillation. Our cold-press extraction process preserves a high concentration of active ingredients, giving them similar properties to essential oils (only Wild Cornflower and Witch Hazel are not derived from essential oils).

How are floral waters prepared?

Floral waters are extracted from aromatic plants inside a still through steam distillation. Once the process is complete, the plant’s essential oils and floral waters are separated. During distillation, steam passes through the plant matter (flowers, roots, leaves, etc.), breaks up the small pockets of essential oil, and releases the aromatic molecules. The infused steam is then sent through a cooling coil and transformed into a liquid known as hydrosol, with a layer of essential oil floating on its surface. Because the essential oil is insoluble in water, it does not mix with the floral water. The essential oil is collected in a condensing recipient, leaving the valuable floral water intact.
